Lead Removal
Dangers of Lead
In 1978, the United States banned the use of lead in interior and exterior paints, but any home built before 1978 likely has lead-based paint used somewhere in the home. Lead dust is the biggest issue with lead paint and can pose serious medical problems for children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
Lead Removal
There are a variety of ways we approach lead-based paints such as wire brushing, wet hand scraping with liquid paint removers, wet sanding surfaces equipped with a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtered vacuum, stripping off paint with a low-temperature heat gun, and lastly hand scraping. If you have lead in your Northern Virginia home or are unsure if you do, contact the pros here at Everest Pro.
